America's First Federal Credit Union, located in Birmingham, Ala., is a full-service financial institution with more than nine branch locations. It was founded in 1936 at U.S. Steel's Ensley Works in Birmingham to provide services to individuals in need. The credit union s members own a share of the credit union, and the union s accounts are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration. America's First Federal Credit Union accounts are also covered by the supplemental share insurance provided by American Share Insurance. Its various services include special rates on a variety of consumer loans, no-fee checking accounts that offer dividends, and free Visa and ATM check cards.

We have done our banking with America's First for over twenty years. I have never had a serious problem with my accounts, either savings or checking. Only once was an error ever made, and that was straightened out immediately by phone.…

I have been banking with America's First for two years now and they are wonderful! When I walk into the bank, they know my name. There is no monthly fee. They are absolutely, hands down, the best bank in Alabama!
